Hampshire made its first visit ever to Northamptonshire for Fixture 2 of the season and came away with a very hard fought win
Ladies B started off magnificently with a 5 – 1 result that proved crucial as the weekend progressed. A 5-7 loss for the Men’s B took the match into Sunday with a 2 x point advantage. A 3 – 3 draw by the ladies left Hampshire with what seemed only a 6 – 6 Draw would secure the weekend.
Winning the first 3 x Matches seemed to consolidate our position but those last 3 x wins were elusive to say the least despite brilliant performances from our players against a Northamptonshire side that showed why they are now in the Premier Division.
However the renowned Hampshire resilience shone through and a superb 89 game shot in leg 6 of the 11th set gave Andy Mitchell a 4-2 win which led Hampshire to a 19 points to 17 points overall Victory
