BRILLIANT performances at this last match of the season have resulted in not only Hampshire securing 3rd Place in the Country’s top Darts League but also by adding icing on the cake with Hampshire Ladies ‘A’ finishing TOP of their respective Division –WELL DONE AND THANK YOU to all players that were involved during the season, officials, venue management and staff, sponsors, supporters and all others that have played a role in this FANTASTIC outcome and for being part of the HAMPSHIRE BLUE ARMY!!!

Of course the players must take the Lions share of the credit for the skills they have displayed, and rightly so, but let us not forget the importance of the excellent team/player management that has also been a major factor especially in these enlightened times where there are so many opportunities available outside of the UKDA system including the long overdue emergence of prestigious and financially attractive events and opportunities now available to all players especially the Ladies.

It takes good Player Management to deal with the complexities that are thrown up with date clashes as whereas years ago this would have meant the imposition of bans or suspensions we now see that most Darts bodies at last emulate the always held Hampshire policy of allowing its members “full freedom of choice as to where, when, with and against whom they wish to further their participation in the Sport of Darts”

It is therefore of great credit to the Ladies Management team that despite having a relatively small pool of players to select from the Ladies Teams have performed magnificently with the Ladies ‘A’ Championship and a creditable 4th position in the Ladies ‘B’ whilst all players being able to pursue their personal ambitions which for Jane Monaghan also included selection into the England National Team!!!

Special mention also go the the Hampshire Super Leagues who through their efforts provide the platforms whereby the top players can hone their skills to the level required for Inter County Matchplay.

Everything looks good for an exciting future – WELL DONE ALL OF THE HAMPSHIRE BLUE ARMY!!!!!!!!
